The consistent scarcity in the numbers of, Mozambique’s casinos is in one sense rather questionable, in one way or another.
In past times, the city was a region where a lot of South Africans would vacation to disappear from the extremely prohibitive regulations on gambling (and, it has to be said, mixing with other races) that they had at home. Therefore, you could count on somewhat of a flourishing industry to serve that tourist industry.

This tends to make a spot much less of a vacation target, even though there is at this moment a inviting setting along several of the city’s attractive beaches.
It is at the same time true that regionally at a minimum, Mozambique’s casinos have had to aspire with casinos in the newly liberalized South Africa, consisting of the prominent Sun City founded by the Kerzner family organization.

This would be to cater to Europeans looking forward to winter sun, as a break from the dreariness of the Northern Hemisphere winter. Additionally, to top it off, the finest prawns (shrimp) in the world derive from just offshore, in the Mozambique Channel.
